What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding is the process of protecting people, especially children and vulnerable adults, from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm.

In the world of rugby, it means creating a safe and inclusive environment where every player, coach, referee, volunteer, and fan feels respected, protected, and heard.

U-SAFE leads the safeguarding efforts across the Uganda Rugby Union. We work to prevent abuse before it happens, respond quickly when it does, and make sure the game we love remains safe for everyone involved.
